"Never Surrender the Dream"
At the Bay Area Armenian National
Committee's annual "Hye Tad Evening"
banquet on at the Khachatourian
Armenian Center's Saroyan Hall,
Special Guest and Armenian
parliament member Raffi Hovannisian
spoke on a wide range of issues
facing Armenia and the Diaspora,
including the Armenian Genocide
resolution, the Turkey-Armenia
Protocols, Karabagh independence,
and the lack of democracy and rule
of law in Armenia.

Represen-tatives meet with Armenian
Prime Minister Representatives
from five prominent Bay Area
Armenian-American organizations met
with the Armenian Prime Minister,
Tigran Sargsyan, on the occasion of
his visit to the Bay Area, November
5-8. The Prime Minister was
attending the ArmTech Congress '09
in San Jose, a conference sponsored
by the Armenian government, on
Armenia's high-tech industry.

Armenia" Screened at San Francisco
Library
Film historian and author, Anthony
Slide, discussed the story and 1919
film about Armenian Genocide
survivor, Aurora Mardiganian, at the
San Francisco Public
Library.
The event, hosted by the Bay Area
Armenian National Committee and the
library, also included a screening
of the only remaining 20-minutes
from the film, "Ravished Armenia,"
as well as excerpts from
Slide's interview with Mardiganian.
